A fund managed by Raison Asset Management invested in Rubrik in June this year.

The expansion of Rubrik’s board of directors could be a sign of the company’s preparation for an IPO. In particular, the company’s press release on the appointment of Yvon Wassenaar emphasizes that it “has 25 years of experience in developing businesses at the stages of active growth and IPO”.

In addition, with the arrival of Wassenaar, Rubrik will meet the requirements of major US IPO underwriters (eg. Goldman Sachs). Some of them require that at least one woman be on the board of directors of the future public company.

Yvon Wassenaar is the CEO of Puppet, which is used by more than 40,000 businesses and organizations, including the US government. Prior to joining Puppet, Wassenaar held leadership positions at VMware, Accenture and New Relic.

In addition, Wassenaar was named “Silicon Valley’s Most Powerful Woman,” and the SF Business Times’ Best CIO for a Public Company, and was named “Outstanding Woman” by the Wall Street Journal.

Scott Herren

Scott Herren is chief financial officer and executive vice president of Cisco, ex-CFO at Autodesk. Previously held senior positions at Citrix Systems, FedEx and IBM.

In total, the Rubrik Board of Directors now includes 8 people, including the founders of the company Bipula Shinu and Arvind Nitrakashyapu. It also includes representatives from investment funds and John Thompson, a former vice president of IBM and current member of the Microsoft Board of Directors.
